Tweaking AP Settings for a Lancair 235

Hehe my "autotrim" is that whenever I feel it is out of trim I move the trim lever...  I do actually react to the trim annunciations on the Skyview, so it is "sort of" automatic.  I've noticed that slight up trim seems to work better than neutral, down trim makes it worse. I will follow your...

    Should we switch from TruTrak?

You can return the Digiflight control head to TT and they should be able to fix it cheaper than buying a new one.  As the Dynon tech said, with the D10a you would only get serial steering - so you will generally overshoot turns and zigzag a bit on track.  Most people have had good service from...

    XPDR Caution

There is a way to prove or disprove this theory. Install a bigger, or second in parallel, battery temporarily. I switched to an EarthX and starts went from barely two chances, "lucky, lucky, lucky," to "VROOM!" Also check all master power leads and grounds and cable connectors.  On my...

Sky view support for new ADSB weather products

On time. Within budget. Bug free. On a good day you get two out of three. Always opt for the third rather than fly with the first when rushed.

    PTT Wiring

Unless you fly a fiberglass plane and the stick has not connection to aircraft ground!!! To avoid electrical noise, Ray was right the first time - in an ideal world all grounds route back to the same point (or along an elongated ground strip). Even a PTT can cause gremlins if you "just pick a...

    Merlin ADS-B input via WiFi

With the advent of the $250 Merlin ADS-B receiver, I would like to recommend that Dynon seriously consider fully integrating its capabilities. Many reasons, even though it will compete with Dynon's own receiver.  Bottom line is, it is so cheap people are going to buy it for their EFB anyway and...

    Music volume adjustment

Just install a potentiometer (variable resistor with a convenient knob) in line with the music input jack.

    NAV RADIO

I could be mistaken, but I believe both the MGL Comm and Nav radios accept SL 30 control input, suggesting that both could be controlled by Skyview. Love Dynon, but the two of them together are only a couple of hundred bucks more than just the Dynon COMM radio, just sayin'... Of course, if you...

    "Probeless" Angle Of Attack Feature

That sounds potentially dangerous to me. Might be "mostly ok" in gentle maneuvering, but could also be misleading. Not to be a killjoy, but I would think it might pose a liability issue to Dynon.

    SkyView Compass Calibration

One other caveat. If you add / remove / change the location of avionics (or any other component which may change the "magnetic signature" of your aircraft) it would be prudent to re-calibrate.

Tweaking AP Settings for a Lancair 235

Bumping this. The recommendation from Dynon did not eliminate the problem. I would describe the problem as this: The AP applies too much pitch correction without "waiting" to see if a partial pitch correction fixes the vertical excursion. The small Lancairs are notorious for being...

    Dynon Updates

Ok, I assume that is because it falls into a certified category and so they don't want owners downloading the latest experimental software?
