    Skyview headset interference

Just an update on the issue of the repetitive buzz/click noise I was experiencing in the headsets. Jake (Dynon Australia) responded by PM and phone to help me troubleshoot the problem. He even rang me on a Saturday evening at 10:30 pm (his time) - fantastic service! Anyway, after some...

    Skyview headset interference

What would cause the flashing warning indicators on the Skyview screen to trigger corresponding clicking noises in the headset? This occurs for example when the AP is not switched on when Skyview expects to see it on, low fuel pressure warning because the engine and fuel pump are off, maybe a...

Request for 5% Wide EMS Screen!!!!

Another vote for the 5% option for the reasons others have already stated, but I can appreciate that it's not a trivial exercise for Dynon to implement.

    Trim indicator not working

Problem solved. Checked the signal wire voltage at the servo and replaced the spade connectors. Everything now works as advertised. Obviously just a bad crimp. Thanks for your help in tracking down the problem.

    Trim indicator not working

OK, sounds like I should measure the voltage at the white/green servo signal wire throughout the trim range, to see what's getting though to Pin 23. I'll try that today.

    Trim indicator not working

OK, found the ELEV CALIBRATION menu OK. Ran the calibration for FULL DOWN trim, which was showing 4.81-4.86 volts while running and settled at 5.0v when full down was reached. Pressed the set button. Then ran to FULL UP when asked, however this time there was no change in the voltage readout...

    Trim indicator not working

OK, thanks. I'll check those items next time I'm down at the hangar and see what happens.

    Trim indicator not working

The vertical trim indicator bar in the bottom right corner of the display is gray, not colored like the other EMS widgets. Maybe it's meant to be gray? I wanted to set the take-off trim position and assumed I would have to calibrate the trim potentiometer as per the instructions on page 7-53...

    Trim indicator not working

I'm just finishing up my RV-12. Calibrated the autopilot servos as per the manual and that worked fine. However, the trim indicator on the SV panel is grayed out, as is the Trim calibration menu option in the Setup>Hardware Calibration>EMS  Calibration menu. The RV-12 uses a Ray Allen servo for...

    Pitot line leak at ADAHRS?

Did the thumb test and traced the leak to the male nylon fitting that is screwed into the brass insert on the ADAHRS. Although the nylon fitting was tight, putting a little O-Lube on the threads fixed the problem. Thanks Dynon.

    Pitot line leak at ADAHRS?

That's a simple check. Thanks, I'll try it and see what happens.

    Pitot line leak at ADAHRS?

I'm just doing the pitot line leak test on my Skyview equipped RV-12. I'm able to confirm that the line is good from the pitot back to the ADAHRS connection because I have a backup analogue ASI in the line (nylon Tee fluid fitting). The pressure reading is rock solid when I cap the line with my...

    CASA Hex Code

Ah, so you're from land of the maple leaf. Sorry Vern, I just assumed you were from south of the border. That's the great thing about these forums - doesn't matter where you live. Thanks for the help :)

    CASA Hex Code

Thanks Vern. It did cross my mind that it might be something like that but my TRS80 and CPM programming days were a while ago. As we're talking about a transponder, I'd like to get it right so I'll have to resort to your handy converter. Don't think I'd trust my mental arithmetic anymore.  :-/...

    CASA Hex Code

The transponder/aircraft code in the Skyview transponder setup menu is only 6 digits long, while the CASA mode S transponder code is 24 digits long. How do I get around that problem? rgmwa

Request for 5% Wide EMS Screen!!!!

Numbers only with black background except for flagged conditions is a good idea. The rest of the screen can be 47.5/47.5 or 55/40 or 40/55. Whatever is easiest to program. rgmwa

Request for 5% Wide EMS Screen!!!!

That 5% sidebar (with backgrounds changing colours as required) is a great idea. Yes please, Dynon. 8-) rgmwa

    PocketFMS for Australia

First flight in an RV-10?  OK, you're off the hook. :) Thanks for the info. Cheaper is good, so I'll go with PFMS. Cheers rgmwa
