Fully removing AP from D100 and D180

Ok spoke too soon. The D180 worked fine when re-configuring as stand alone with nothing else connected. This removed the AP artifacts on the D180. Later we tried it on the D100 in the other aircraft and it did not work even though the unit reconfigured as stand alone. The firmware is 5.5.0...

Fully removing AP from D100 and D180

Have 2 friends that each purchased half of a D180, D100 combo. Both of these friends did not purchase the AP/Servos. The original owner of the combo had the AP/Servos. That being said, I cannot figure out how to fully remove the AP from each of these screens. I have reconfigured the DSAB bus...

    More ASI filtering

I know the legacy gear is sort of in maintenance mode but: After flying behind several brands of EFIS systems, it has become very clear that the Dynon D6/D10A/D100/D180 products would benefit from a little more filtering on the ASI. The digital values are a just too nervous. When used with...

    oops, spoke too soon!

Sorry dude, all my experience with the legacy stuff was with an SL30 and with an HS34 so it looks like from Dynon's reply, you are not going to get full function with that radio unless you add the HS34. I had actually forgotten that the D100 never sends anything back to the SL30 like the HS34...

    oops, spoke too soon!

Did you connect the TX of the Dynon to the RX (Input) of the Val? Did you set the OBS/Resolver setting on the Val to SER for serial input? Did you set the serial mode on the Val to DIR? It looks like the Val uses the same protocol as the SL30 on the serial line so it should work if you get...

How do you move the CDI on D100 with no HS34?

The Dynon HSI needles are designed to go away when the signal is not present or unreliable. If there is no signal, most likely the course button won't show up under the HSI.

How do you move the CDI on D100 with no HS34?

What is the navigation source? If it is a GPS, the course is set by the GPS's active flight plan and you can't change it on the Dynon. If you put the GPS in OBS mode, you can change the course on the GPS itself. If it is a NAV radio, get into the menu under the HSI and press the COURSE...

Size and thread pitch of mounting studs..D6/D10A

Dang I must have looked at that page a dozen times and never saw that Radius in the top most view. Must be getting old. Thanks for the info on the studs. Maybe mine did not come with the hardware since it was a refurb unit? No big deal, I have a few 6-32 locknuts laying around! Thanks!

Size and thread pitch of mounting studs..D6/D10A

Can you please fill me in on the size and thread pitch of mounting studs on the D6/D10A? Mine did not come with any nuts or hardware. oh...almost forgot!  Can you also please tell me what the radii of the corners of the faceplate are on the same units?  I may have to have a spacer machined and...

Dynon needs your help: 5.4 GPS Nav Source Dropouts

For the long term NAV source lost issue: Let me be clear. I do not think the issue is with the Garmin GPS's or the Garmin NMEA data stream. I personally think the issue is in Dynon's code. Reasons I think this: •No other user of Garmin's NMEA data stream have reported an issue. •People with...

    NavWorx ADS-B In Compatibility

Mode S alone is not ADS-B out.  You need a mode S xponder with the ES extended squitter add on. With no ground station signal you can get air to air on a 978 receiver or a 1090 receiver or a dual band receiver but you will only see the planes that are on the same band that you have a receiver...

Lost Nav Source with Garmin 696 ver 6.0

From Garmin: "We just released new software for the GPSMAP 69X and G3X (and standalone GDU 37X) that fixes the issue with intermittent loss of NMEA Out to external devices. 695/696 V 6.10 http://www8.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=010-00667-40&cID=446&pID=14859 G3X V7.10...

    ADSB

The D100 has no map so it would be a long shot for Dynon to ever do anything with it like traffic or weather. The 396 can display TIS-A traffic from anything that spits out a TIS signal. It is limited to the number of targets it will display. As far as I know, there is no other option for...

430W with HS34 and no glideslope

You do not have to have an approach loaded to get NAV signals out of the 430W. What airport? Does the HSI show up as Green on the Dynon?

    Advanced Autopilot

Of course to make everyone happy, Dynon could just make the external AP control panel an optional item and give the menu structure to those that don't want an external control panel. Two choices, take your pick.... :)

    Advanced Autopilot

You may have but that has nothing to do with folks that already have nice symmetrical or fully loaded panels and that don't want to go hacking em up or rearranging everything to fit this in. Lots of people that upgraded from the legacy systems to the Skyview already went through this pain. I...
