AOA audio output to headset

I have a Garmin SL 40 com and would like to know how to combine the AOA audio output with this.
I have followed the installation instructions and purchased a variable resistor.
The SL40 doesn't have any audio inputs. Can I put the output wires to the headphone jack in parallel with those from the SL40? Or will I have to have a separate speaker for the dynon?

Thanks

The output of the EFIS is not designed to drive a speaker or a headset directly. The only thing that it can drive is the input to a intercom. If the SL-40 doesn't have the ability to take an external input, you'll need an intercom to use the output of the EFIS.
