AP Panel wiring issues/question

On the AP panel can someone confirm or deny that the ground on Pin 2 (for use with trim motors) and the ground through the network are internally connected? I was trying to interrupt pin 2 ground with a switch to kill motors. The motors however still work even after disconnecting the pin 2 ground from the switch. Unless my wiring is wrong which I don't think so, the only other place I can see the motors getting ground is through the network.

Thanks for your help.

That is the ground for the trim system and really should be used.

The AP panel has trim runaway protection built is so unless you really want to switch it, just wire it to ground. If you want to switch the power to the trim system, switch the power supply on Pin 9.

Ya after checking some of the wiring and it appearing to be correct I think that switching pin 9 would be the best method instead.

It's just driving me crazy not knowing how else they are getting ground!

It is most likely through the SV Network, however you do not want disturbances on the network caused by using the same ground. Trust me that is bad karma.
