AP74 Voice Wiring Issue

I know that if you have the AP74 hooked up to an intercom that you don't NEED to have the alarm that is generated from the 180 hooked up put if you already have the alarm hooked up will it not allow the voice data?

Hooked up to an intercom with two seperate unswitched inputs.

You chose in a setup menu which output works (voice or tone). It has no idea if you actually have them hooked up, so it can't prevent one.
