D10a and Becker BXP6401 set up

Hi Guys, What is the set up for a D10a and Becker BXP6401 transponder to enable altitude encoding? I've tried just about all the variations on both boxes. The transponder check failed. I get a Becker Error Latch of DATA LINK and of course FAILURE showing up sooner or later. Thanks, John in MN

It turns out that two wires on the Becker harness I purchased were in each others pin. The other problem was that there was a ground on one of the db connectors that, due to my panel setup, should not have been there. The BeckerUSA tech guy was a big help in helping figure this out by offering suggestions and pointing me in the correct direction.
