There is no EDC program. When you update the EFIS (D10, D10A, D100 or D180), the program that updates the EFIS also updates the EDC if it is attached. There is no way to update the EDC without going through the EFIS.
But you also say you have successfully updated the EDC in the last line of the message, so maybe you meant EMS? In that case, the EMS is the same program you use to update the EFIS, you just choose a different model number.
