Building a Bearhawk; Dynon D180 uses 22awg from shunt to loadmeter and requires fusible links or fuses. Fusible link requires 26awg to be 4 step sizes from 22awg. Having difficulty finding 26awg tefzel after checking BandC, Stein, Spruce. Will 24awg packaged in BandC part FLK-1 provide proper protection? Rather not use in line fuses for this

We're a bit reluctant to tell you "that's OK". As always, it remains your ultimate responsibility to ensure that your aircraft is safe, and like many things, what you're wanting to do is a trade-off.

Typical fusible link recommendations are 2-4 wire sizes difference, and we err on the conservative side in our advice. The smaller you go on that wire, the quicker it pops open when a short happens (desirable), and the less heat builds up, etc, and the safer the link is.
