I have a D6 as a backup EFIS in my RV10.

Powering down my last flight the D6 immediately shut down. Normally the internal battery kicks in and it stays alive for X seconds. I flew today and payed closer attention and saw the I voltage dancing all over the place when I first powered up. From 0 volts to 13 and all over in between. Eventually it settled itself at zero. Powering down the airplane the D6 shut off immediately.

This D6 unit is about 2 years old and I got the internal battery with it. Seems like it could be an intermittent connection, but it's hard to imagine that developing on the internal battery?

Is there any history of this symptom on the D6?

That sounds like either an intermittent connection, as you guess, or possibly an internal wiring problem. Give our support team a call at 425-402-0433 or an email at support at dynonavionics dot com so that we can offer some help here.
