flight director command bars

I am trying to tune my autopilot on a skyview classic. RV-12. What exactly are "flight director command bars" ??. I am working from the skyview manual autopilot tuning procedure, in expert mode, set to IAS & TRK mode, and I cant seem to find the FD command bars. Anyone ?.

They show up when the AP or FD is engaged, and only in expert mode. They're the magenta guidance overlaid near the center of the attitude indicator. It may be an inverted magenta "V" or a pair of vertical and horizontal "barbells", depending on how your display is set up.
