I am benchtesting a brand new SV-700 in order to bring everything to the latest version. Hooked up to it is the AHRS, GPS and backup battery. It gets power from a 12V DC supply.

Booting it up went fine and everything looked normal. Then I inserted the USB stick with v11 on it, went into Setup and asked to update. It went through its spiel (the green bar got almost to the end, can't say if it got right to the end or not). Then the display went blank and I thought it was just rebooting. But it just went blank and stayed that way.

Some pertinent information:

1) Powersupply is OK. Tried a 12V car battery with same result. LED on AHARS is blinking normally.

2) The SV-700 shows yellow and sometimes green LED lighted on the LAN connector on the rear.

3) Leave it on for a couple of minutes and the cooling fans on the back come on for a bit.

4) Pressing on the display with my thumb and a small lighted area shows around that point.

This leads me to believe that maybe the display brightness is somehow turned all the way down? The display shows just black with nothing readable, though.

Please, anybody, HELP!

Thanks, -- Chris.

So you've completely depowered and repowered everything since the update attempt and all you're getting now is a black screen that looks to be backlit, it sounds like. When you apply power do you get the Dynon logo at all or other flashing? After you apply power, try pressing buttons 1/2/5 simulaneously (this "reboots" the display). Does that produce any different results? If you have the backup battery connected, try disconnecting it too. If none of that works, it sounds like we may need to see your display here.
