I'm confused on how to wire the Rotax 912 oil temperature sender. Does it need excitation voltage and dropping resistor? The oil temperature senders in the installtion manual don't match what I have on the engine. It appears the oil temp sender I have is the same as the CHT sensors at least in a pyhsical way.

You do not need the excitation voltage or resistor for oil temperature (but you do for the CHT/coolant temps that are the same sensor but hooked to the GP inputs). The signal wire goes to the normal input pin, and grounding is via the case of the sensor.
