Is there any reason to add a Garmin V (Garmin 5) that is WAAS ‘capable’ to a Skyview system if I plan on using the GPS-250 and Map-270? I’m guessing if I didn’t have the GPS-250 the Garmin serial output could be used in its place. Serial input can get you glideslope (Table 7, HSI requirements), but guessing you need to tune it on the NAV radio-or am I messed up on this? Or is the Garmin only purely supplying position information? Would there be any benefit on the XPNDR-261? The plane is going to be a VFR machine, but was wondering if the Garmin V would do anything at all or if you need a SL30 or better to get any benefit above the GPS-250. Thanks! (Going in a RV-7A.) How I feel after reading most of the documentation->
