Hi All,

I just upgraded my Skyview to 10.0 and all looked good so I went flying.   Tried to switch HSI Source to GPS 1 (My GTN-650) and it was not available.   I only was able to swap from Skyview GPS and Nav (Localizer) which was keyed into my GTN NAV.  Normally I also have the option of GPS 1 which is my GTN GPS.

Does anyone know what might be the problem?  Or has anyone experienced this before?

One thing to note as I was testing after I landed.  It seemed that when I first powered up the Skyview and GTN the HSI Source of GPS 1 was available.   I had all 3 sources back, but when I clicked "OK" on the GPS acknowledging that the database I loaded is the next cycle and isn't effective until April 2nd the option for GPS 1 went away.   Is there something maybe to do with the ARINC connection that Skyview won't recognize the GPS if the database is valid in the future?  I previously had the current database on my system, just installed the new database early.

Thx

We are looking into this issue. Was there any change now that it's April 2?

This is a design change and is on purpose.

SkyView now follows the CDI button on the 430 (or the CDI soft key in the default NAV menu on a GTN). The reason for this change is that it allows the 430 to tell SkyView to switch from GPS to ILS or back when on an ILS overlay approach. In order to do this, we show you whatever mode the 430 tells us to be in.

So now you have only one 430 source, and that will be whatever the 430 is in.

If you don't like this, you can go into your ARINC setup and change the setting "Allow nav source auto switch". If you do this, you will get two nav sources like you used to have, but now you will need to manually switch from GPS to LOC when you intercept.

This seems to be a pretty big change that might catch others off guard. Thanks for the explanation.
