Software update 16.0.4 and lost ADS-B 472 data processing

About a year ago I installed and have been running successfully an ADS-B 472. I am pretty sure I updated the operating software at the time. I just updated the operating system to 16.0.4 and have lost traffic and weather. In the air "ADS-B STATUS" is "RECEIVING". The SV-ADS-B-472 is installed in serial port 2 and seems to be communicating properly but no traffic or weather displays. I have weather selected for the display and I have traffic selected to display too.

I have looked for other similar problems/solutions and cannot find anything. I have read what I think is all the appropriate manuals. I have gone through every menu.

Any help is appreciated.

I went to the plane today and took a few screenshots. I normally see ADS-B traffic at my airport with just the hangar door open. I'm still displaying nothing but everything seems to be working and all display options are checked.

If you haven't already, get in touch with our support team (contact info in our signature). This might be related to a small glitch in GPS time initialization that we have a way to easily fix.

Thank you for the response. I did get in touch and downgraded to 16.0.2.8176 but the problem persists.

Looking at David's data, this is the date and time issue. Anyone with this issue, load the file attached here and let us know if it is resolved.

What does that mean, "the date and time issue"? What's the issue?

I am happy to say the patch worked! I updated to the latest HDX version and ran the patch and I can see traffic with just the hangar door open. I'm sure weather will display when I get airborne.

It appears to fix a reference date, and by extension, a reference time. It just resets part of the configuration to a recent reference date, Aug 9, 2021 to be exact, and the time presumably resets from that. Whatever reference the system was using before apparently can cause issues in certain circumstances. It looks very much like some of the Y2K mitigations we did years ago. Very likely the code in this file will be incorporated in a future update. In the meantime, there doesn't appear to be any obvious reason anyone couldn't load it now, but it would probably be best to let Dynon confirm that.

Long story short, on some systems, version 16.0.4 erroneously set the last good date to 12-9-2021 which caused the system to not update the clock or system date when GPS acquired a fix, since the date coming from GPS was older than the last good date. Once the fix file is loaded, it is a permanent fix for the problem and the system date will get updated by GPS once it has a good fix.

Aha! A temporal coherence check. Well, at least you know it works :).

Thanks for the info...

To verify, in a multi-display configuration, you would need to load/update this patch into each display?
