USB Serial adaptor  no com port connection

I have a EFFIS-D10A. and have allways upgraded my fimware using my Desktop computer. I am now using a laptop with Vista operating system. I have loaded the USB Serial adapter drivers for Vista. The D10A screen goes yellow but the laptop fails to make a com port connection., it just keeps scrolling for a com port. Any suggestions?

Remove the "Vista Virus" from your machine?

Seriously, there have been several threads here about this issue. If you are using the Dynon provided serial to USB converter, they have an approved driver that reportedly works with Vista. Check the Dynon downloads. Or, it can also be a bad cable.
