Hello,

Does anybody have a recommendation for a circuit breaker for two SV32s behind an AP74?

The wiring diagram calls for wire sized for 2 amps. Is this to say that this is fuse wire that will burn through if 2 amps is reached or would 2 amps be the mean amperage for this circuit and hence require a circuit breaker of 2.5 or 3 amps?

Thanks,

Cory

well you always size the cable for the task then the breaker for the cable. So if you have 22 gauge use a 5A breaker.

The breaker is there to stop cable becoming a fuse and then a fire!

An SV32 can draw 2 amps, and the AP74 is about 250ma, so your total load is at least 4.25A. You need wire sized for at least 5A and a breaker of sized appropriately as well.

As David says, the breaker is always for the wire, not the equipment.

I ordered a 2A for the AP74 and am going with a 4A which will feed both SV32s.

Thanks,

Cory
