Hi, my EFIS displays winds aloft sometimes correctly but then sometimes I get ridiculous readings of 42 knot winds & often a warning displays "OAT lost" I assume the outside air temperature is used in the winds aloft calculation. I have checked for loose connections. any ideas?

OAT is indeed used in that calculation, so if that's going away or going otherwise haywire, the wind speed will be affected. One thing I'd start with is to keep an eye on the OAT info item to see how its behaving.
