Installed new HDX screens in the plane and sent my Skyviews back to Dynon for overhaul. They replaced the processor in both with the brand new and current version, replaced the main circuit boards in both, and did some other minor hardware mods that had come along...
If you scrape this thread for the data you're only seeing a high level overview of troubleshooting and not what's actually been done. Everything has been done in concordance with Dynon and individual components / differential diagnosis on each part, things were only changed one at a time early...
The 15 pin harness was rung out and that is all the 12v trim stuff. If something was shorted there it would show up as the trim actually moving, which it doesn’t. The backshell was also opened and each pin inspected. Easy to hear a trim motor firing in the hangar. Also when I had a moment...
Dynon found the solder connections when they opened the AP panel. Still waiting for them to get into the AP panel we just swapped out last month to see if there is anything inside it.
Most everything that’s been done is in the last couple pages, that will answer most all your questions...
Had the same failure mode 2 years ago. New AP panel fixed the problem. Old AP panel was reported to have every solder on the main board broken. When problems surfaced again we immediately swapped at the AP panel and the frequency increased from intermittent to constant. During troubleshooting...
Yes, using white Dynon network cables. When first installing the new AP panel during this round of troubleshooting the failure occurred on the first boot, this was with things plugged it but not mounted and secured so there wasn’t any stress on any physical connections.
The behavior of the...
Hopefully we get 16.5 this year and that fixes the bug. I had it on my 7” skyview screen and again on two brand new HDX screens. When it says skyview has disconnected on the iPad the aircraft position jumps back to the hangar. Wi-Fi still connected and traffic still on the screen. A few...
Trim motors are Ray Allen. Nothing has changed there. Flew a couple times today, no squawks. Diagnostics sent to Dynon to see if the computer is still showing a runaway pitch trim now that trim is removed.
Wire harnesses have been rung out and the two Dynon network cables connected to...
