Problem/Desire:
Power Skyview display and supported items from 2 separate batteries. The purpose of which is to power up the Skyview system to input flight plans and have ems ready for engine start. Once engine is started, oil pressure values are immediately available. Starter and second power source are on second battery to prevent reboot of Skyview display during starter cranking.
Why:
Since my aircraft is electrically dependent, with 2 electronic ignitions and full glass instruments, I would like to use separate ships batteries to power the avionics and each electronic ignition. Further, I'm thinking about changing my carburetor to electronic fuel injection. Each computer for the ignition would be on a different ships battery.
It makes sense to me, to have full size ships batteries. Rather than having a backup battery for each electrical device, such as Skyview, ignition1, iginition2, fuel pump1, fuel pump2, fuel computer1 and fuel computer2.
Skyview installation manual chapter 4 power input states that ,
<SkyView displays have a primary power input that is compatible with 12 volt and 24 volt electrical systems (10 to 30 volts DC). There are two unterminated solid red primary power input wires (to reduce current loading in each wire—these are not for redundancy and both must be connected to the same power source) and two unterminated solid black primary ground wires.>
