Skyview HDX: Will it display Nav/Map Data from a Garmin 175 with an expired Database?

Ya, that's my question:
Skyview HDX (v.17.3) Will it display Nav/Map Data from a Garmin 175 with an expired Database?

Also: The Databases are a not current in the Skyview

Yes, outdated data will display. Skyview will give warning of outdated data and so will 175 on its screen

Ya I got the outdated warnings but when I switched to Garmin on the SkyviewHDX, it was not displaying
the same map as on the Garmin175. I'm going to update both units and see what happens. I shall return...

update: I updated all the Nav, Terrain, and Obstacle databases on the Skyview. Now the Garmin nav info
displays on the Skyview map. I guess that's a good thing.

What map? The basemap is not part of the database. It won't change unless Dynon updates the firmware. The only thing you'll see change with a database update is airports, obstacles, etc, along with maybe charts/sectionals, if you display them.

GPS175 sends the GPS position, waypoint coordinates/flightplan, and lateral and vertical guidance to the HDX. All that will still show on HDX with the expired Dynon database. i think you can even fly IFR and legally use the dynon display for guidance as long as the Garmin's database is current.

GPS175 does not send any "map" information to Dynon such as airspaces, obstacles, terrain, traffic, frequencies, taxi diagrams etc. GPS175 has its own tiny map render which you could cross check it with the Dynon. But not sure why anyone would go into so much trouble since Dynon DB updates from airmate cost next to nothing (at least in the U.S).

OK, thanks for the info everyone. I'm quite confused on this. I may have a POS/GPS config problem.

My Display: Single Skyview HDX
My Navs: SV-GPS-2020 and Garmin GPS175, (and possibly a SV-GPS-250 - not sure)

I want the Garmin to be my primary GPS (I think). How should I configure the POS and GPS priorities?

Do I select Skyview as POS 1 and Garmin as POS 2? (or visa versa?)
For POS 1 can I select the Garmin, or does it have to be GPS2020?

Are POS 1 and POS 2 only for Dynon GPS units?

I want the HSI to show Garmin approaches when I select Garmin on the Skyview screen (of course).

I read this section in the Skyview manual which did not help me much.

I've subscribed to Garmin for the U.S. Navigation database (only) - to have instrument approaches.

I sure hope so. That's what I was planning to do.
