Will this remote dual COM management panel support any COM and/or COM/NAV radio as the second radio? Specifically, will it support the Garmin GNC215, integrated with Skyview over one of the five serial port channels ?
 
The dual com function will support any radio that we're currently able to control via RS-232. Specifically in reference to the GNC-215, yes, it will work.

The SV-AUDIO-6BTR is compatible with any radio, it's just like any other PS Engineering 450 audio panel in that it has connections to be able to control the transmit/receive functions (and more) for two radios.

Please confirm that based on the fact that it is a remote component, (that integrates with the main HDX screen through modifications to the HDX display software - new display, configuration and management screens, etc.), therefore, other than the physical installation of the new remote box somewhere in the aircraft, the only other installation tasks will be configuration and setup?

Does the SV-AUDIO-6BTR communicate with COM/NAV radios and with the other Skyview components using the Skyview network, (the 9-pin D-Sub connector)? or does it have its own pre-built wiring harness like the Dynon COM transceiver?
 
Are the pinouts for the new remote panel plug-and-play such that I could replace a late model panel mounted PS Engineering audio panel with little to no change in wiring?
 
The SV-AUDIO-6BTR is a white labeled PMA 450 EX-R from PS Engineering, so the pinouts are the same as "their" model. We'll have wiring instructions listed in the upcoming 17.6.0 revision of the installation documentation that should be live on the web in the next week or two. Generically though, you'll need to connect the RS-232 serial RX and TX wires from the audio panel into SkyView to display and control it from the HDX on-screen menus.

The remote audio panel is an RS-232 serial device, so it will need to be connected to SkyView via one of the 5 available RS-232 serial ports that are wired into the main display harness of the HDX. It won't use a SkyView network connection. Once connected, you'll configure it as "SV-AUDIO-6BTR" as the "serial-in device" on the serial port that you have it wired to. Software version 17.6.0 will enable that device as a selectable name in the serial port setup.

There are plans to have a premade harness for it like we do for our 2-place intercom.
 
And just for reference, for those readers who may not already know, there are 5 serial, (RS-232), ports available in the SkyView system. In most (fully populated), installations, three of these will be spoken for by the following components:

1: SV-XPNDR-261 Transponder
2: SV-ADSB-472 Transmitter
3: Unused
4: Unused
5: SV-GPS-2020 (Recommended port) GPS

That leaves two unused serial ports for other components. If you want to add VOR/ILS (or any other VHF NAV radio), most are easiest to install/configure when using a serial port, although some can use the AIRINC-429 interface as well, but it's a bit more complicated.
So if you have a VOR/ILS radio, and use a serial port for it, than you have only one unused serial port left to use for the SV-AUDIO-6BTR.

In my case I have a VPX and I wired my 440 to a serial hoping this day would someday come where I can control my Dynon radio and my 440 from the display.

But now I don’t have a spare serial for a remote audio panel.

I have a 450 now so it would have just been a matter of wiring the serial….
 
Ahh, it's too bad that Dynon only put 5 serial ports in the HDX. I suspect it would require a hardware change to add more... Or they would have updated the Skyview software by ow to do it.
 
Hopefully a Dynon Tech will answer definitively, but I suspect not. I would think the wires on both pre-built standard HDX wire harnesses will be internally connected in parallel to their mates on the other wiring harness. i.e., both HDX displays will share the information on each of the 5 serial ports.

No, you only have usable 5 serial ports on your system. The serial ports on Skyview screens need to be tied together (port 1 to 1, 2 to 2, etc.), then connected to the serial device the system is communicating with/controlling so the screens are sync. Stein Air built my system and this is how they connected my equipment: XPNDR-262=serial 1, ADSB-470=serial 2, Power VP-X=serial 3, serial 4 = NC, GPS-2020 = serial 5,

I will have to repurpose a serial port going to my ELT for my new remote audio panel. Never understood why ADSB or Transponder or Gps2020 wasn’t on the Skyview Bus. Maybe bandwidth limits on SV? It does look like new IFR navigator may be Skyview Bus based. Look carefully at the announcement video and note Nav source start with “SV”.

Not currently, no. With 2 screens you still only have 5 total ports since the ports have to be paralleled between screens. There are opportunities for this to change in the future as more interfaces are required, but right now it's limited to only those 5.
