I've been trying to reach out to the FK dealer here but no luck so far, is it possible to get a picture of the wing root area ? I'm guessing the fuel level sensor is in that area. "The fuel level gauges in my tanks are dead! Prone to failure!" Is this a known problem ? Did yours ever work ?

Richard, I've had the 'dropouts', very momentarily, with an Avidyne gps & another autopilot. It happens so quick as not to be a bother to me at this stage.

I understand your pain however if you are not impacting on the top or bottom surfaces of the wings then I don't see a huge cost, its just a pita :-) I have done this type of work before on my own composite aircraft & others. I'd still be interested to know - What make/type of fuel level sensor...

As Galin says, YMMV. Your situation may be different. As you most likely have a Rotax fitted does your FK have a fuel return line ? To where, both tanks or just one ? What make/type of fuel level sensor is currently used ? Where is it installed ? Easily accessible or would you need to remove...

As the OP said, why would you do it differently to the install manual? - it actually shows the tx/rx & Power/ground connections to the Dynon GPS serial port 5

Left & right audio is a twisted pair - sometimes stuff happens with manuals.

Fuel level gauges are used normally to determine quantity in tank/s, Fuel Flow is computing fuel used (plus other calculations) in total. Any particular reason to do it differently to what is universally done ?

It’s actually 13 & 31 that are joined together & 30 is the audio ground. Installation manual rev AD v15.3 page 4.33 refers. Is that what you’re after?

I’d be checking the pressure relief valve first, maybe the vernatherm unit after that - those are the easier items to look at. After that it becomes complicated.

Could be the sensor, however I’ve never seen or heard of a problem with the Kavlico oil pressure units. Do the symptoms appear during every flight ? I guess there’s no need to ask re connections including the socket tension in the 3 pin connector on the sensor ? Any other stuff going on with...

If the EMS is an early manufactured unit then that may need to go back to Dynon however the ‘spikes’ won’t impact on the system. There are ‘filtered’ dsub connectors ( installed in series- I only have the 37 & 9 pin ones, will give them to you if needed) that may fix the issue. Hopefully that...
