    Synthetic Vision Altitude Position

I've noticed that when on the runway, the 'picture' that SV paints shows me higher - at least that is the way I judge it by the perspective. I determined that changing the baro setting actually appears to move my vertical position up and down. It got me wondering if 'ground level' is set at...

    Intercom causes howling on transmissions

I have a newly installed Dynon radio and intercom in a composite aircraft. Wiring is per the instructions with all grounds running through to the ground pin on the intercom. The intercom works well, loud and clear between pilot and passenger. Radio transmissions however have a distinct howl to...

Setting up Mic Gain and Side Tone - should I be transmitting as I do the test?

Dynon Tech Support confirmed that you should be transmitting as you do the Mic Gain diagnostic. Just pick an empty frequency and test. I suspect the sidetone adjustment is similar.

Setting up Mic Gain and Side Tone - should I be transmitting as I do the test?

Thanks for the suggestions. Well, I finally got it figured out! With the help of the guy in the next hangar listening in, in his aircraft confirmed he could hear the mic click and got TX, but no voice. Setting up Mic Gain and Side Tone - should I be transmitting as I do the test?

I'm having problems with my transmissions being inaudible/garbled - maybe even non-existent as all my 'can anyone hear me' radio calls go unanswered. Other than that everything else works just fine, receive, intercom, etc. I do plan to move the transponder antenna as I can hear popping - unless...

    Transponder 'R' always on?

I'm used to the 'R' of the transponder slowly pulsing as it is interrogated. Is it normal for it to be always on? Is that an ADS-B thing?

    Ray Allen Pitch Trim Wiring

Ok, so I figured out the problem. The wiring inside the Ray Allen rocker switch is quite different from what the kit plane manufacturer showed in it's wiring diagram. I took the rocker switch apart and disconnected the white/red wire and then rewired the ground wires from the '3' position to the...

    Ray Allen Pitch Trim Wiring

I have a Dynon HDX system. My standard pitch trim for the aircraft has been a simple panel mounted Ray Allen rocker switch connected to a tail mounted Ray Allen servo. It has worked well, the rocker switch is a momentary switch which moves the servo while the rocker switch is held in the...
