Failed oil temp sensor? Another one erratic.

New sensor is installed... oil temp readings are stable and normal now. It must have been the sensor itself.

Failed oil temp sensor? Another one erratic.

Well, two flights later it's doing it again :( I'm positive the wiring is all solidly connected, with no intermittent connections anywhere. Gonna order a new sensor next week and try a replacement to see if that solves the problem.

Failed oil temp sensor? Another one erratic.

Went back out to the airport today and checked the wiring once again and found exactly just that... a poor crimp on the ring terminal.  Since the wire is so small (22 or 24 gauge) it doesn't fit very tight inside a red crimp terminal. I doubled the wire inside the terminal and crimped on a new...

Failed oil temp sensor? Another one erratic.

Been running the D-120 EMS on a Lyc IO-360 for a little over a year and 175 hours now. On the way back from Oshkosh, the oil temps started jumping erratically back and forth between the normal (~190) and about 133-134 degrees. For a little while is bounced back and forth between 133 and 155...

No HSI from GPS after 5.1.1 update

I updated a friend's D-100 last night to 5.1.1 and today he called me to say that HSI display isn't there anymore, only the DG. The HSI was working fine with the old firmware. Does upgrading the firmware reset the configs such that you normally have to go back into the setup menus and...

D120 and Princeton cap probe fails calib in RV-10

Re: D120 and Princeton cap probe fails calib in RV The dihedral of the wing/tanks is indeed very likely putting the entire length of the sender probe tube completely under fuel when the tank is filled past 20 gallons. The sending unit only fits within the inboard section of the tank up to the...

D120 and Princeton cap probe fails calib in RV-10

We're trying to calibrate the D120 with Princeton capacitive sending units in an RV-10. The Princeton sending units are the 2-setpoint type, and the sending unit successfully went thru the initialization routine (empty + full)  as described in its documentation just fine. We then emptied the...

    Question re: 430, D100, D120 &  HSI display

Re: Question 430, D100, D120 & HSI display This is most excellent news! The plane probably won't even be ready for first flight until late winter - early spring '08... hopefully over the autumn and winter months we'll get everything ready for that. The Dynons, Garmin 430 and transponder are...

    Question re: 430, D100, D120 &  HSI display

I'm helping friends build an RV-8 and they're buying a Gamin 430, the D100 EFIS, the D120 EMS, and the HS34 HSI module. We're wondering if the HSI with glideslope can be displayed on a portion of the D120 while the D120 is still displaying a condensed version of the engine graphics, while at...
