If I do not have the keep alive 12v or the internal battery, does my D180 keep in memory the magnetic inclination angle and intensity when I switch it off ? Alain

I read that it is recommended to put the remote compass far inside the back of the plane. But what if the plane is made of carbon ? I read somewhere that carbon may influence compass. Is that the case and then should I put my compass somewhere else ? Thanks Alain
