    Update problems D180

Mike at Dynon support, thanks for the help. The D180 upgrade went 99% and then gave a message that the connection was lost. Restarting the update gave File Not Found errors. It was necessary to disconnect the internal battery and start the upgrade from scratch, then it worked fine. Also the...

Contact inputs on D180 and HS34

Follow up question: May I use a contact input to indicate on-off for a voltage circuit? For example, connecting the contact input to the power lead on the heated pitot tube to get a green/red indication on the screen. It would need to handle 12 V bus voltage (0-15V or so).

Contact inputs on D180 and HS34

My install includes D180, HS34, etc.  D180 has two contact inputs (install manual p.3-16) and HS34 (p.8-11) has four on pins 18-21.  Do I end up with six independent contact inputs (I hope!) to eliminate all my annunciator lamps  :)

    HS34 wiring

Marker beacon indicator wiring: OK, EFIS will accept active high from my PS6000 audio panel. Just wanting to be sure the 7-11 volt high signal is within acceptable range.

    Serial port conflict resolution

My panel includes D180, HS34, Garmin 496, AP7x (later...), etc. Serial input to the SL30 RxD seems to require connection to the Garmin 496 for frquency control of the SL30, and also to the HS34.  Only one can be connected.  If the HS34 passes through the frequency selection I am good to go with...
