    Garmin GNS 430 configuration

I just installed a GNS430W on my -6A and wired to HS34 according to Dynon EFIS D100 Installation Guide Section 7-15. I get an error message on the 430W "Not Receiving input data on 429 CH1. Also, the D100 does not show the GPS on HSI display, although it appears to recognize something on the Set...

    Dynon D-100 attitude error

I have previously written about a similar issue where after start up, the horizon will bank to roughly 5 degrees on level ground without moving the aircraft. Usually, it would correct itself 10-15 minutes after startup (on ground or in air). This was happening intermittently for the last year of...

    D100 Display: Right Turn Drift

Yes. I checked it today prior to engine start (to address the engine/panel vibration concern) and took similar pictures with iPhone, which I will load later. The bank angle varied between 5-10 degrees (on ground and in flight). Nose up pitch indication is roughly 3-5 degrees. System stabilized...

    D100 Display: Right Turn Drift

I will have to start checking the unit prior to engine start and let you know. Engine operation is smooth (0-360). The failure mode is intermittent, and recovers with time (regardless of power setting/flight regime). It behaves like the older Gyro's that were "slow to spool". Will advise. Thanks.

    D100 Display: Right Turn Drift

Intermittent Problem. After engine start, aircraft on level ground, display will initiate a right turn (up to 30 degrees). Occasionally will persist into the flight regime after taxi. Generally, it corrects itself and stabilizes after 5-10 minutes following start. I only noticed this begin to...

D100 Slowly Rolls 90 degrees after take off

The D100 will occasionally indicate a roll to the right (up to 90 degrees or so) after take off when in level flight. This has happened the last three times or so shortly after take off. It will eventually come back to neutral in cruise after 5 minutes or so. Any ideas? It does seem to occur...

    AP74/HS34 Installation

I have installed the AP74 and HS34 on my RV6A. Wiring harness fabricated by SteinAir for my particular installation. I have a Garmin 250XL and a Garmin 496 connected to the HS34. Both Units appears to be feeding the HS34 simultaneously and obviously confusing the AP74 regardless of the NAV...

    AP losing NAV source

All course and track issues resolved by selecting "Aviation in/NMEA & VHF out" on the 496 and selecting "normal" on the Advanced NMEA Output Set Up Menu. Serial 2 selected to NMEA 9600. This forum has been a great help. Many thanks!

    AP losing NAV source

When GPS1 is selected through the HS34, the 250XL (serial 1) provides the proper course, speed (0), and distance to destination selected. However, the "track" indication always reads 360 initially. When GPS2 is selected through the HS34, the 496 (serial 2) provides proper speed (0) and distance...

    AP losing NAV source

Baud rate resolved by going in to the 496 set up and selecting "TIS in/NMEA & VHF out". Course still showing 360 initially regardless of (initial) destination selected on GPS. Thank you!

    AP losing NAV source

Although the Dynon docs say to set the 496 serial connection should be set at NMEA9600, it does not work on my recently installed HS34/AP74/D100. However, if you configure the HSI serial connection to 4800 for the 496, it seems to work (does not say "searching for satellite signal" all of the...
