sorry you are right. the SV-GPS-2020 is a self contained integrated GPS and the antenna all in one package. I have the GPS175 right now and probably not the main target audience for the new Dynon IFR gps. Hope @Dynon can shed some more light on the hardware details :)

This brings up an interesting question. Will the new certificated GPS include functionality of the SV-GPS-2020 . In that case we should be able swap the module and the antenna instead of adding a new set of GPS, coax, and another antenna.

i don't think it's possible. The IFR certification requires integrity monitoring and accuracy and spoofing detection for the computed position. My guess is that SV-GPS-2020 uses an off the shelf WAAS GPS module, something like U-BLOX, which spits out the position without the FAA mandated...

Could @Dynon address what is happening in general on the software development side? Just a few years ago we had a state of the art EFIS and now it is slowly falling behind competition. Simple features and fixes become a heavy lift with many months of effort. I'm hesitant to update anything...

Hoping with the re-work of the IFR HDX features there is going to be an option to put the glide path "diamond" at the altitude tape. The vertical guidance is *really* not in the best position right now on the HSI.

This is pretty amazing and at the same time disappointing that @Dynon forced you go this far to find your way around the obvious and carefully reported bug.

GPS175 sends the GPS position, waypoint coordinates/flightplan, and lateral and vertical guidance to the HDX. All that will still show on HDX with the expired Dynon database. i think you can even fly IFR and legally use the dynon display for guidance as long as the Garmin's database is...

does the airspace show when you pan the map? the "missing" airspace starts at 13000 feet, may be it got decluttered?

This is how I configured mine. The slowest chirp starts at about Vref. The only drawback is that the AOA screams at me during takeoff and on landing rollouts when doing the "wheelie" to keep the load off the nose gear.

here is what I've got. I moved the AGL to the very bottom (closer to the "ground"). This helps with departure turn at 400 feet without going through the terrible anguish of calculating the offset from the field elevation. 😆 I'm not sure about the usefulness of the GPS ALT card.. may be it...
