Traffic to ForeFlight with V15 software?

I have the dual band and the 15.3.3 update and use Foreflight. On a recent flight I booted up Foreflight and for just a second displayed traffic. When the traffic disappeared FF gave me a WiFi disconnect message.

    ADSB 472

I installed the Flightaware filter too but still had some traffic drops so I removed the filter and installed the improved SV-472. I understand that the improved -472 has filtering and has improved sensitivity. Along with the new firmware, 15.3.3, I now get excellent results.

    ADSB 472

I have several flights with the improved -472 and with firmware V15.3.3 and it works well. Not dropping targets as before and I am slowly gaining confidence that I am "seeing" all possible traffic. I have been flying mostly in the mountainous southern Arizona area around Tucson and Phoenix...

    ADS-B-in

I show targets in the pattern and within 15 miles when I'm on the ground with dual the dual band 472 but don't get "ADSB OK" till I climb to about 800-1,000 feet. At that point I'm in full radar environment and get the full traffic picture (ADSB OK).

    Dual band antenna

I was also one of the early adopters of the -472.  After installing that I still dropped traffic so I installed a 978 specific antenna.  I don't think I gained anything by doing that but don't believe that I lost anything either. Because I didn't gain anything I went back to the recommended 1090...

1090MHz Filter for ADSB 472 Issues?

I have now completed 3 flights totaling about 2 1/2 hours using the band-pass filter. I have the -472 dual band receiver. I am experiencing fewer problems, i.e., dropped traffic, but it still happens. Today my display was showing, "ADSB NO RADAR" but was showing 3 targets with N-numbers...

1090MHz Filter for ADSB 472 Issues?

I ordered mine tonight. Hope the band-pass filter is the solution. Can't wait to install and will report results. I think the 470/472 problem has been particularly bad here in the Tucson metro area.

    ADSB 472

Thanks, Dynon, for the update. I've never doubted that you're working hard to find a solution and that there will be a fix. Waiting.

    ADSB 472

Guys... I work in an industry where we test the crap out of product and we still see systemic issues down the road because we can't predict and/or test every scenario. It has only been a few months since we started seeing documented problems. Although I myself want a fix sooner rather than...

    ADSB 472

Not to be contrarian but I'm getting good results with the -472 now that I've relocated the antenna to 2' forward of the tailwheel. At the same time I changed to the 978 rod antenna. I've flown 4 flights in the Tucson/Phoenix corridor where I've had issues previously with the -470 and the...

    ADSB 472

N214ST mentioned not getting weather to show after installing the -472. I got good weather overlay depiction with the -470 and just as good with the -472.

    ADSB 472

I was one of the first to install the -472 and now have about 35 hours with the new receiver. I was still getting dropped traffic and the display occasionally reverted for short periods to TIS OK so I now have taken extra steps to optimize the system. I installed the Dynon 978 rod antenna and...

    ADSB 472

I recently installed the Dynon 978 antenna. Perhaps just a wee bit better but jury is stiii out.

    ADSB 472

I upgraded 470 to 472 and installed 978 antenna. I am on a trip now having flown from Tucson to South Dakota. ADSB OK coverage seems better than last year but does drop to TIS, usually for only a few seconds, when I don't think it should such as in or near Class C airspace, i.e., Omaha. A few...

    ADSB 472

I have the same issues as jethound. Traffic disappears a lot. I've installed the 472 dual band and those issues remain. A couple of days ago I switched to a 978 antenna and changed the coax just in case. Today I flew a second round trip test flight between Tucson and Phoenix. I had 99.9 ADSB...

    ADSB

Yes, my Cub is fabric. The antenna is mounted on a rather large aluminum panel but I haven't checked to see if the antenna has good electrical contact with it. I've established dialog with the FAA so they are looking into it. There has been problems with the Tucson ADSB tower but they found a...

    ADSB

I'm using a factory installed blade antenna that came with my new airplane in 2013. I suspect it may be a 1090 antenna. I don't know what coax I have but the run is short, only about 6 feet and the antenna is bottom mounted just ahead my Cub's main landing gear. There are no other antennas...

    ADSB

I have the dual band receiver but had the single band till a month ago. I operate in the Tucson/Phoenix area and should have solid ADSB reception but targets regularly disappear. My system reverts from ADSB "OK" to TIS "OK". When that happens my targets disappear even when I'm in the Tucson...

New Dual Band ADS-B for SkyView / AF-5000 Systems

I installed the dual band -472 a month ago and all is well. However I am considering changing to the 978 antenna to maximize reception in marginal areas. I make a long summer Cub trip each year from Tucson to the upper plains states and from previous experience I know that reception is spotty...

Adding Second Skyview And Most Avionics

The dual band receiver arrived Monday. I installed it on Tuesday and gave it a short test flight. All went well but there was no way to determine if the traffic I was seeing on my display was 1090 airplane to airplane or re broadcast from the Tucson ADS-B tower. I'll give it a better test...
