    GPS296 to D10A

Thanks. I'll wait for a dry day (in western Washington it may be in July) and drag the plane out of the hangar to get a satellite lock. Thanks for the help. Ward

    GPS296 to D10A

Two questions. 1. Do I need a satellite lock for the GPS to show up on the d10A HSI setup screen? I don't so much care at this stage if it shows me a track or anything. I just need it to show up as one of the 9 GPS options on the screen. 2. I only have the one wire coming out of the DB9...

    GPS296 to D10A

I have hard-wired my 296 to the bus and grounded it to the common ground block and have connected the blue wire from the 296 harness (Data 1 out) to Pin 3 of the 9-pin connector, but can't get the Dynon to see the GPS. I believe the wiring of the connectors is correct as I can update the Dynon...

    GPS input confirmation

If my GPS III Pilot is sending data to the D10A, will the GPS show up on the list of 9 GPSs on the setup screen HSI-GPS Serial? Is there any other way to confirm that they are communicating? Thanks. Ward

    GPS input

Ken, The GPS is indeed powered by the aircraft system and grounded to the firewall ground block. I went out today and connected the Dynon to the PC, and the PC read the information from the Dynon fine again. I also have the GPS connected to the GTX-327 transponder, but I do not believe that...

    GPS input

I am trying to connect my D10A to a Garmin GPS III Pilot. It appears that others have done so successfully, but I can't seem to get the Dynon to recognize the GPS. I have the GPS set to output NMEA at 4800 baud (the only rate choice). I have tested the wiring. The Dynon has been updated thru...

    Bench power for D10A

Can I use a Radio Shack AC adapter that outputs 12v at 1 amp as a bench power supply for my D10A when I update the firmware/checklists/etc. It looks like 1 amp will be enough. Also, do I need to have the EDC connected while updating the firmware? Thanks for putting up with a newbie :-/ Ward
