Anyone else experiencing this problem?

Two HDX 10 inch touch screens. Latest firmware (16.7) has been installed. System is a little over a year old. Failure was noted before upgrading to 16.7.

Simultaneously pressing the 1+2+5 key just shuts the system down. It doesn't work on the PFD or the MFD. A reboot does not occur. I tried both long presses and short presses. No joy. It use to work on both screens.

Problem has been submitted to Dynon.

It is probably be a stretch, but does the same thing happen with and without the backup battery connected? Do single presses of buttons 2 and 5 reliably respond to being pressed such as Direct (2) and Flight plan (5)? Looks like there is any outside chance this thread may be related to your issue? Did you change your configuration recently?:

I haven't tried it without the backup battery connected. In my case, I am using Dynon - Advanced Flight Systems ACM. The backup batteries connect to the ACM, not the screens. Buttons 2 & 5 reliably work, with the exception noted in my post above (Functions not invoked when button pressed).

Regarding that post, I sent my two HDX screens to Dynon for repair. Turns out that this was not a hardware issue but a software issue. Dynon was able to reproduce the problem using my configuration. However, when they loaded my screens with Dynon's default configuration, the problem could not be reproduced. Dynon is still working the issues.

There is a good chance that this problem is related. I hope it is related and it fixed soon. Having functions randomly not work is not a confidence builder.

Case Closed!

Owenssonex comment gave me pause. ..I went to the airport today and tested the reboot key under ship's power. It works as expected. Tested it again operating on backup power and it doesn't work. This is by design.

From Dynon, "Ok, so that is working as it should, backup power is just that, for emergency use when a/p power is failed. Since it's a software operated switch to keep backup power on, a reboot with 1,2, 5 is going to make it go dark and stay. Unless of course you press button 1 to power it up again on backup battery."
