I will be updating my Skyview HDX firmware to version 16.4.0 and want to verify that I DO NOT have to save my EMS parameters, etc. before updating and that I can simply upload the new firmware. I just don't want to lose any of the settings specific to my aircraft. Can Dynon support or anyone else confirm this? Thanks for any assistance.

In a nominal completing software version update the configuration parameters are not touched, the only think that might change are the definitions of the sensors if you include this in the update, but if you never have updated sensor definitions then this is no issue.
But if you are concerned about your specific settings that are related to your specific aircraft then you should always have a current set of saved configuration parameters at hand. You should also have such a set so that you can roll-back any change that you have made and after the fact discover that you don't like the change, I think keeping such a backup at hand is a very simple and easy insurance against any unexpected problems.

The system automatically backs up the settings and stores a copy on the thumb drive when you update the software.
There is a folder created on the drive called settings_archive. This contains backup copies. Never hurts to do your own settings backup though.

Hi Don,

Good idea. So what is the keystroke routine for doing that manual backup?
