2 Rotax CHT with 2 additional temperature sensors

Hello,

in my standard Rotax 912 installation the 3 GP - Inputs of my D180 are used up for (original resistive) CHT and OAT. Can I configure the CHT - display in a manner that it shows me the 2 (resistive) CHT's and on the remaining two bars two temperatures, in this case coolant and carb temperature measured by J-thermocouples?
This kind of cheating would be very useful. If I remember right such a solution was announced for the July firmware.
As an alternative, could I measure coolant temperature (only) with the additional turbine temperature input? Is it already implemented?
Thanks

Richard

Re: 2 Rotax CHT with 2 additional temperature sens

Richard,

TIT is not yet implemented.

The only solution is to use J-type CHT's. We only support thermocouples for CHT's and EGT's. We can't use thermocouples for anything else.

If you install 2 thermocouples, you can use this as CHT and then you can use the GP inputs for anything else you want. The thing that is being released in this firmware is the ability to use a different sensor on the GP input for coolant temp.

Re: 2 Rotax CHT with 2 additional temperature sens

Thank You very much for this information.

I will use the original Rotax sensors for CHT and display them as CHT1 and CHT2. I will keep my fingers crossed that I can cheat a bit ;) and display the additional thermocouple measurement of coolant and carb temperature as CHT3 and CHT4.
Greetings from Germany
