I am bench testing my skyview attempting to integrate it with a 430 non-waas. I have wired the 429 box to the 430 using the instructions and diagram from chapter 11. Just to double check I rang out the pins on the 429/25 pin connector to the Garmin's P4001 and P4006 connectors. Everything checks fine.

I have included photo's of the error and config pages for both the 430 and the skyview. Any ideas ?

If you are bench testing, do you have an AHRS connected to SkyView? We can't supply altitude to your 430 unless we know it...

I have the AHERS connected. There are no pitoe and static lines connected to the AHERS though. Is it sending the altitude data across the rs232 pin ?

What about the 429 error on Channel 1?

The altitude data comes from the ARINC, not the RS232.

We have two suggestions for troubleshooting. First, try connecting the altitude output from the SkyView ARINC back into the input on the SkyView ARINC (remove the 430 and connect SkyView back into itself). If you can see data being received, then you know the SkyView is transmitting.

If that is correct, then the next step would be to try using input 2 (connect and configure) on the 430, and see if that works.

We don't have a third step, but if the SkyView is transmitting (per the first step), then it must be a configuration issue in the 430.

Thank you for the info.

First, try connecting the altitude output from the SkyView ARINC back into the input on the SkyView ARINC (remove the 430 and connect SkyView back into itself).
[list bull-blacksq][*] What pins are we talking about here on the 429 db25 connector ?

Just a guess. You have RS232 input channel 1 off. Is that where you are connected to the Arinc 439, or are you on channel 3?

I have made a simple db25 loop back plug for the Skyview 429 modual, with the following pin outs. This bypasses the G430.

Pin Pin
23 <->25
11 <->13
22 <->24
10 <->12

The labels were continously counting up. I believe the problem is in the config on the G430 side. Any Ideas what needs to change ?

Am I reading your problem right? You're saying the 430 is not receiving altitude data on Channel 1?

As stated, you have Channel 1 *INPUT* turned off on the 430, which would explain that, no?

According to your photo #3, you have all RS232 inputs turned off at the G430. You have to turn the input ON in order for the G430 to receive anything. FWIW this is how I have my G430W configured:

ARINC
ARINC 429 Out 1A GAMA w GRP-H
ARINC 429 Out 1B GAMA w GRP-H

ARINC429 In 2A EFIS/AIR DATA
ARINC429 In 2B EFIS/AIR DATA

RS232
IN-1 ICARUS
OUT-1    AVTN

In-2 NOT CONNECTED
Out-2      ADSB+ (Directly connected to the Dynon Xponder)
