430W final checks show TAT?

Just curious...while working through my 430W's installation checksheet, getting ready for final assembly and engine start, etc., I see that the data coming from the ARINC module for SV seems to be sending "TAT" data (True Air Temperature) rather than OAT?

Just curious what's going on here...everything else seems to be okay.

Is there a list of the fields the ARINC module is sending?

http://wiki.dynonavionics.com/Generic_ARINC-429_Wiring is a list of the HS34 ARINC-429 labels. SkyView outputs that and a bit more, I believe, but there isn't a definitive list currently published. Trying to get that for you though.

Our probe actually does TAT, technically, because we don't back back out ram air from the temperature that's sampled by the probe. So it's techincally the most accurate term.

Here's the list of labels we send/receive on the SV-ARINC-429.

based on those labels, when i change the CRS on the PFD, it should change the OBS/CRS heading on the 430W, is that correct?

mine doesn't do that

It matters what mode the 430 is in and what is connected. Changing the CRS doesn't override the GPS flight plan if you are in that mode. Also, if you have an analog CDI or HSI connected, that one always wins. Of course, if you don't have an eternal HSI connected, then the only way you know if the course changed on a VOR is via out HSI.

Basically, our course knob only has an effect when you are using the NAV radio and are on a VOR, or when you are using the GPS and have put the 430 in virtual VOR mode.

You can verify the 430 is getting the CRS label by looking in the setup mode and it shows you the ARINC labels that it's getting and what value they are set to.

The 430 is a complex beast.

okay, so it won't work if i am using NAV1 (VOR) as a bearing rather than the primary HSI input

I will try it again, I usually do my CRS checks when I am on the startup page of the 430, it was part of my instrument checklist when I was using the analog gauges, now I am trying to do it on the glass
