I installed the subject modules and have been working diligently to become proficient with them and the Expert A/P system.  I've read the (limited) instructions several dozen times and conducted numerous in-flight operations.

The instructions state the buttons on the control panel perform exactly the same functions as those in the Menu driven system.

That's not quite accurate.  For one, there's an Alt Hold button on the Menu system, and none on the control panel.  And, the control panel has an ALT button - there's none on the Menu system.

This has confused me.  What does the ALT button do on the control panel?

In general, I think the stand alone button control modules would benefit from a more robust explanation section than exists now.  Currently, it piggy-backs too much on the Menu system discussion, which differs in numerous significant ways.

Bob,
It doesn't differ in behavior- only in labeling. We couldn't fit "HOLD" on the button on the panel.

You say there are multiple differences, but we're not aware of any. What else have you found?

Well, the Menu system has a lot of "light green, green border and black background, solid light grey, and black background" codifications which are immaterial to the new dedicated panels.

Your telling me that ALT is really ALT HOLD has solved one problem for me!  So - it's the same - but not the same.... But, I had to ask - it's not in the Manual.

Maybe I need to tape over ALT with an "ALT H" home made label?

I'd like the whole Expert section written just for the new dedicated module panels.  I no longer care about those green border/black background factoids.
