A/P roll entry

Really starting to use the autopilot lately, doing a lot of work to get instrument proficient again after the long lay-off while building. It holds altitude and climb/descent well, holds track or nav very well. Sensitivity is set at 4 IIRC for roll, as higher resulted in some "jerkiness" whenever the aircraft is disturbed by turbulence. The only thing I'm trying to resolve is the initial roll into a turn...it's "lazy", taking quite a bit as it slowly enters the turn. I'd prefer it to be a little more crisp entering the turn. I have it set for 3 deg/s, max angle of something like 35 degrees.

Any suggestions for what to play with on the next flight? Other than that, it's doing great, and the rest of the system (ADS-B, XPDR, all features on SV, etc.) are doing extremely well.

So a couple of things. One is that our next software update, due in June, has a bunch of updates to the autopilot - both the user interface and the "guts". So some of this advice has a short shelf-life.

But first, are you using turn rate or bank angle mode? If the former, try the latter. That'll give you the single biggest positive change in AP behavior.

Turn rate (3 deg/sec) because under IFR, that's a standard rate turn.
