My plane, a homebuilt amphibian which includes a nonstandard engine, (a Corvette LS1 8 cylinder 350 hp.) and a variable pitch propeller. For RPM readout I can choose either engine rpm or prop rpm. I'm setup now for prop rpm which supports the concept of not exceeding the max rpm of the propeller and geared speed reducer. It also makes it easier to go from one plane to another without having to switch thinking modes (especially important when others fly the plane). On takeoff, Exceeding prop rpm is very easy with the power available. The question is : have any of you found a good way to add the second rpm signal to either a unique rpm device or to the Dynon Classic Touch I have. Dynon tech explained a pathway for a display input but can't offer suggestions on the sender.
