Add GPS175 to SkyView w/ SL30 &G5

I currently have a SkyView Classic with SL30 Nav/Com and G5 backup. The SL30 communicates with the SkyView via RS232 and the G5 "just listens". I want to add a GPS175 to get IFR RNAV and understand I'll need the -429 converter.

Has anybody done this and will the SkyView still show the SL30 Nav or would it be GPS only?

Not sure if this helps but I have a Nav2000 for my ILS, a Dynon Com, and a G175. My Dynon can cycle through the Garmin, Nav 2000 and the Skyview GPS and display or track which ever one I select. Dynon Tech guys have a simple wire diagram for hooking it up to the 429. Much better then anything you will get from Garmin. Good Luck

SL will still communicate via 232, if the GPS 175 is communicating via 429 there should be no problems.
