ADSB and 430W

This has probably been answered but I cannot find anywhere; does the ADSB system require that I upgrade my 430W per Garmin's S.B. 1225? (Assuming I have both the Skyview transponder and ADSB box)

In order to be fully compliant and legal in 2020, yes. In order for all the features of ADS-B to work today, no.
