We've been flying our 40 hrs off and loving the capability of the SV system. We see ALOT of traffic on the 261 transponder here in central FL. Been thinking about adding the Dynon ADSB but I'm wondering just how much more traffic we will see ... I know we will get the weather and that is an obvious pls. But what about the traffic ... how much more if any will we see?

You will see a lot more traffic, but it will be traffic that is farther out and less of a threat. The TIS system works great for showing you targets that are a threat, but it can only send up to 8 at a time so it only sends the ones that are closest to you.

Here in Seattle seeing 20 airplanes on ADS-B at a time isn't unusual, but many of them are 10+ miles away.

The real issue is that TIS-A is going away, so it won't work forever. Also, it only works at larger airports around the USA, so if you go cross-country, you won't have a lot of TIS coverage while ADS-B will work almost everywhere. So it all depends how and where you fly your plane as to if ADS-B would add a lot of value today.

I also live in central Florida and have no regrets with the addition of ADS-B. The box ADS-B box works much beter than just TIS alone. It is like having TCAS plus you get sent any skin paints from radar sites of air craft that may have left their transponder off or it is broken. Plus the free weather which works just as good as XM once air born. :)
