AHARs recovery

It does not take much in the way of aerobatics to upset the AHARs which is fine.  However, it seems it will only recover if the wings are very near level.

I can upset the AHARs and it will recover inverted if the wings are level.  I can upset it and it will not recover even if upright if the wings are not near level (actually, ball centered).  Can you advise on the exact requirements for recovery and if recovery performance is improved with airspeed?  All the above testing has been done on the bench.

Low turn/pitch/yaw rates, ball centered, is what you want to aim for to recover. Basically, straight and level. If you have the unit tilted on the bench, the ball won't be centered, and it won't never recover.

You may want to get your hands on the RC Allen unit and see how they do it. The recovery is quick and from any attitude without use of airspeed.

A little more technical data - the unit will recover as long as rates are under about 4 deg per seconds. You do need to be coordinated though, so ball centered.

That was what I saw and is very "doable" even in a stressful situation... Thank You

My D10 image was slightly off-screen in flight yesterday, and subsequently started moving down in a permanent scrolling movement. Any suggestions?
Thanks and Happy New Year to all aviators!

miktango1 - If your attitude is continuously rolling in either roll or pitch, then there is a hardware issue with the unit. Please give us a call at 425-402-0433 or an email at support at dynonavionics dot com for further help.
