Ammeter reading high

I have just started operating the EMS D-120 and all seems normal except the amperage at normal operating revs usually sits at 99 Amps sometimes drifting down to 36 Amps
After start and engine idling Amps reads about 4 to 10 amps but when opened up immediately reads high, I'm running a 50 Amp Alternator.
I,m baffled

That sounds like an amps shunt that somehow isn't actually connected to the system (and then the number float a bit randomly). Or perhaps one of the two wires isn't connected. If you connect both wires to one of the terminals on the shunt, it should read 0 all the time if the pair of wires are continuous back to the EMS correctly, so that's one thing you should try.

Thanks so much for the advice,
I cleaned and re torqued all the connections, all seems good, however only shows charge of about 1-2 amps (position "A") and now the voltage tends to float a little 13.8V. to about 14.3v ? I will check the actual voltage with a multimeter next time I fly Thanks again..
