Another "dumb" remote compass question

I got my hands on a nifty little digital angle finder (level).  I like it because it's small.  To my dismay, I discovered that it has three small magnets embedded in the base.

Would these magnets likely damage the remote compass if I used it for alignment?

Unless the are insanely strong, they won't cause any permanent change to the remote compass.

If you are worried, align the mounting braket first, then fit the EDC?
