Anyone know when an update is coming?

Anyone heard anything on an update timeline for HDX? I was told by a Dynon rep that mid February was expected. Ummmm we are well past that now.

Mainly wondering because I can't keep track of my tach times; even after the Jerry rigged fix my tach times are still way off.

Would also love an autopilot not out of an F-16 too but I can don my imaginary fighter helmet awhile longer if needed. 😁

Was the downgrade easy to do? Don gave me the option when I sent him my diagnostic files but also made it sound like he didn't recommend it (without actually saying that). I was hoping that Dynon would come out with a simple patch fix for a couple of these items without waiting on a full on new version. I followed the tach time "fix" by removing one of the tach signals. It made the tach times less erratic for sure but they are still off by a fair amount at the end of each flight.

One thing I have definitely learned from this forum is to never be an early adopter of new software releases.

There is an update coming, likely next week, that mostly covers hardware changes we needed to make to deal with supply chain issues (ie, parts that needed to be replaced because we couldn't source the originals). It has a couple of bug fixes in it, but not fixes for all known bugs. Although it will be "16.3", because it supports a hardware change, it's not really the "16.3" you'd expect from a feature perspective.

And the fuel updater issue? (as an aside what are the autopilot issues?)

I just received my new Skyview HDX 10" from Aircraft Spruce. I am upgrading from 7" to 10". I noted that on startup, it indicated that version 16.3 was installed. I will keep you advised as to my experience with this new system.

Sooooooo any update on an update Dynon? This tach time issue is getting very frustrating...

Getting close to just rolling back and staying 1-2 full cycles behind if it takes half a year to get fixes like this.

So the full story is that 16.3 really supports changes to hardware that has some changes due to the global supply chain mess right now. It's shipping only on new displays only right now. To minimize the possibility of introducing bugs, it only contains the hardware support changes, plus a couple of bug fixes. We're currently validating the 16.3 release against the other hardware configuration before releasing it to the web. And as mentioned before, because of the "all out" effort to make the changes to continue shipping product, we're a bit behind on addressing a few of the 16.2 issues.

So 16.3 is functionally identical, (or extremely similar), to 16.2, differing only in changes made to make it compatible with changes in hardware components?

If so that would imply that those of us with 16.2 and pre-pandemic hardware need not bother to upgrade when it is released?

I volunteer to beta test it for the Tach Time issue. After several weeks working with Tech Support I could only get 1 of my 2 D700’s to revert to the previous version. I would of had to reimage both displays 2 versions back then reinstall 16.0.8. Too much risk to having a display become non-functional, so I’m living with the 16.2.4 bugs.

I started testing it last week guys. The tach time issue appears to be fixed. No fix for the autopilot though, would be curious if others find the same.

I have not found any others bugs as of yet.

What about the fuel status window remembering the fuel level at the last shutdown? The bug would reset the window to zero.

I didn't have this problem with the last version. It also seems to work on this version but that may not indicate a fix for all.

I will say though that since updating last time (16.2) the system hasn't done any auto detect of fuel quantity. It would appear that auto detect is still not working but I only have one fill up on the new version. I have not gone in to see if the setting simply got changed though.
