I have a question about how I might be able to get AOA to cross indicators using the DSAB. I plan to have a D180 as a master unit with a D100 on the copilot side. I have a standard heated pitot which I had planned to hook to the D180. I have obtained a Dynon AOA probe but it is not heated. If I connect it to the D100 can the AOA be shown on both screens? As an alternate scenario, can the AOA probe be led to the D180 AOA port if the pitot port is from a standard pitot probe?

You cannot share AoA between two EFIS units over DSAB. EFIS units always show local EFIS data (which includes AoA).

Sharing just the AoA line may work, it may not. Our pitot port is designed to be very insensitive to AoA, and of course the pitot is close to the AoA. If your other pitot is far away from the Dynon pitot, or if it reacts to AoA at all, there could be a lot of variations that look like AoA. Then again, it might work just fine.

We do make the AoA in a heated version now as well for $450.

Thanks Dynon, that is what I feared would be the answer. Is it possible to upgrade the pitot probe with the company or do I just have to buy another one altogether?

Unfortunately, we can't upgrade pitots so you'll need to buy a new one (unless you bought your current one within 30 days and it's in new condition)

Thanks for checking. Looks like I will just add that to the shopping list and will purchase it with the EFIS units, HS34 and AP 76.
