AOA audible signal stopped mid flight

Hi,

My AOA audible signal stopped working on short final yesterday. Where should I begin troubleshooting, its from a D100?

I know the system was functional, because the visual on-screen was still working perfectly.  Other audible alarms from the EMS D120 seemed to work normally. Comms was also working normally.

Is there an audio test function I can use to determine whether the D100 is still physically wired into a functional circuit, while it's in the hanger?

What else could it be - I have my AOA inhibit speed set to a reasonably high speed (35kts from memory) - but this has never stopped it before, and I wasn't flying particularly slow when the AOA audio cut out either, I also accelerated to 50kts to check if it would come back on, prior to landing....   I also don't understand how this AOA inhibit function works - mine does not appear to work as promised, I can be rolling down the runway at 25kts (tailwheel down) with the AOA blaring. It seems to cut out when the ASI stops reading, not at the level I set. Of course that wasn't the case yesterday.

Any help or advice appreciated!  :)

For individual, complex issues like this it's always best to contact our Technical Support department directly - email support at dynonavionics dot com or phone 425-402-0433. They can walk you through troubleshooting steps individually, interactively (if on the phone).

Thanks for the suggestion, although phone support can be tricky because of the time zone difference (I am from New Zealand).

Dynon: I wanted to ask about this as well with regards to by D10A. My AOA tone always stays on after landing, even below the "cutoff" speed. I have mine set to 42 knots, but I frequently have to manually go in to the menus to disable the AOA alarm on rollout because the tone will stay on all the way back to the hangar (taxiing at <25 kts). Any idea what's going on there?

Thanks,

Jordan

Jordan:

Please get in touch with our Technical Support department to discuss your situation individually - 425-402-0433 or support at dynonavionics dot com.

Before you contact TS, it would be helpful to know the version of your firmware on the EFIS-D10A - SETUP > VRSION.
