RV-12 ELSA
The Skyview AOA cal procedure is pretty easy to go through. I did the cal (RV-12) with full flaps, figuring that would be best for landing AOA indications. I set the warning to start at the bottom of the yellow. The result, though, was an AOA warning that starts just before touchdown, near the stall. I did a recal with flaps up, trying to adjust the start of the warning earlier. That overshot and it now starts too early. Next time I'm out I'll try it again with half flaps.
My goal is to start the warning with a slow beep at normal approach speed and have the beeping accelerate as I slow to the fast beep just before stall.
I've never flown with AOA. So, first, does the way I'm trying to get it to alert me make sense? Second, is there a way to configure Skyview AOA manually, without a trial and error recal process until I get it right?
